Extracurricular Activities

St. Mary's Extracurricular Activities for 2018-19 include the following:

Rosary Club
This year we will continue our Rosary Club ‐ “nest of prayer” like those inspired by Padre Pio of Pietrelcina and Padre Pio Delle Piane. These two friends believed that “the children will save the world” through prayer groups. They felt that Our Lady who appeared to the three children in Fatima was calling us to ask children to pray the rosary and make small sacrifices for the conversion of sinners. In 1973 Father Andrew D’Ascanto acted on both Padre Pios’ requests and began the first “Legion of Peace”. On this hundreth anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady at Fatima we would like to answer their call and form “Our Lady’s Rosary Club.” 1st through 8th Grades will meet on Thursday afternoons from 3:05 to 4:00. We will begin by praying the rosary in the chapel before the Blessed Sacrament and follow the format of the Legion of Peace.

Debate Club
Debate Club is offered to students in grades 6th -8th. It is meant for all students wishing to enjoy debating interesting topics not specifically related to academic content. It aims at helping students grow interest in topics occurring in society. The club meets on specific Thursdays 3:05‐4:00pm with Mr. Curley and Miss Crosby
